Mickey Middleton Lane

Mickey Middleton Lane has authored plays, musicals, and novels in multiple genres under the pen names Michelle Busby (culinary cozy mysteries), Mickey Lane (non-fiction), Mickey M. Lane (animal cozy mysteries), Mickey Middleton (children’s picture books), Mickey MorningGlory (multicultural paranormal mysteries), and M.M. Busby (thrillers). 

 Mickey lived for a time in California where she was an actress, singer, and writer and a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). She moved back to her home state of Florida and became a teacher, which led to her creation of picture books and a psychological thriller novel in an educational setting. She developed a highly acclaimed interactive sing-along system to promote reading fluency, won the Florida Center for Teachers Award given by the Florida Humanities Council, and was certified by the prestigious Renaissance Learning Systems, Inc. as an Accelerated Reader Model and Master Class instructor before she retired to write full time. 

An avid puzzle solver, mystery buff, storyteller, and self-proclaimed foodie, Mickey combined her talents into one large pot to stew up her Holmes and Watson Culinary Whodunits. Her affiliation with the Apalachicola Band of Eastern Creek Indians and other indigenous Native tribes in Florida made her a “friend of many fires” and contributed to her Trackers Team series featuring Native characters, and her experiences as a board member of a local animal shelter inspired her latest Boundless Boarders Dog Detectives cozy mystery series. 

 Mickey belongs to Editorial Freelancers Association, Women's Fiction Writers Association (WFWA), Sisters in Crime (SinC), Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), American Copy Editors Society (ACES), and the National Association of Independent Writers and Editors (NAIWE). 

Mickey M. Lane now resides in Arizona with her husband and their redbone coonhound.
